Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
The new release is entitled “A Tapestry of Scabs and Skin“. It’s not quite an album, but I feel like it flows well, and I’m proud of the variety, yet the cohesiveness we were able to achieve in the compositions.
The first track combines some bitter sweet melodies with a raw and churning drive. It expands into doom-esque riff with some character driven vocals by Dustan and I, and then continues into a riff/chorus melody I think is really nice. Pretty standard.
The next track is heavier and more progressive. “Blinded by the Diamond Planet” is music birthed from a conceptual story that is a metaphor for the way that greed and ambition can corrupt people in society. It rips all the way through, and touches some pretty dark areas of the psyche. It is also heavily influenced by psychedelic drugs.
I should also mention that all these tracks are produced by Jesse Gander (Bison, 3 inches of Blood, Anciients). He really put his heart and talent into it, and I cannot wait to work with him again.

How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
Doomy, Psychedelic, Sludgy, Progressive. There are other eclectic influences you may catch. We have been compared with Kylesa, Mastodon, High on Fire, Isis, to name a few.

Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
Side A was recorded at Rain City Recorders in Vancouver, BC. Side B was recorded at the Hive in Burnaby, BC. As I mentioned before, both sides were recorded with Jesse Gander. I believe we spent 8 days in total recording and mixing. We partied pretty hard recording side B, and I definitely lost my voice day 2 of recording vocals. I spent a bunch of time warming up before recording my tracks in “Rest in Depths,” and I was finally able to nail it. It is actually one of my favourite personal performances as a result. I think the struggle involved added a lot of character to the tracks, and a bit of excitement in meeting our recording deadlines - haha.

What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
The cover art is a beautiful 20”x20” acrylic on canvas painting done by the talented Nick Patterson of Victoria, BC. I could not be any happier with the result.
The art portrays an archetype character which we sing about in “Cupid’s Fist.” It is a metaphor for the forces that enslave us throughout our daily lives, whether that be the gods we idolize, or people we think we love, or the aspects of society that drive us to destruction. Our lyrics encompass concepts that interest us, and experiences that have affected us… Dustan and I enjoy exploring many of these topics through story telling, and metaphors. I am especially interested in social interaction, and philosophy.

What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
I would love to forward the momentum that we are currently experiencing. We want to use this release to open more opportunities to play with bands that we respect and love, and to provide us a platform for a full album release.

Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
300 print limited release of high fidelity 45rpm 12” vinyl. It will also be available for digital download.

Where and how will you promote this new release?
We have an awesome team put together to help promote our release in Canadian, US, and European markets.

Where can we order it from?
