Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Mike: The two of us are cousins. We both were previously in bands, and we've been talking for years about doing a side project together. It finally came time to put our brains together, and we started 'Backyotomy'.
Don: I was in Digested Flesh for 10 yrs, so Backyotomy started as a side project for me but now it's my only band and we're both focused on releasing a full-length and playing shows.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Mike: our style? Back Breaking death metal, ha ha whatever the fuck you wanna call it. Our influences- cannibal corpse, dripping, dehumanized, death, morbid angel, obituary, dying fetus.
Don: It's definitely brutal death metal. And you'll hear our influences come through in our music but hopefully most people will find it original enough. We're trying to do some different things.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Mike: The brutality....the samples/intros to some of the songs are dope as hell, they set the stage for curiosity, the gutturals are deep as fuck.
Don: Yeah, so far the album flows nicely and we wanted to make it fun to listen to. The songs are short and sweet. We get right to point. Also, like Mike said, we've mixed in some movie samples for fun.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Mike: The only music we've released so far has been our 3 song demo, and we have about a total of 8 or 9 songs so far that we are still working on for our full length album.
Don: We've gotten a good reaction from the few people that have heard of us. We're trying to spread the word some more and see how we're received.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Mike: We haven't played a show yet, We actually just started this band about 3 months ago.
Don: Neither of has ever played live without a live drummer so it's new territory for us. We're excited about it we hope to get out there and play some shows in the near future.

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
Mike: The music we are putting out will make people want to jump into a circle pit, beat your chest and bang your fuckin head.
Don: We're both experienced musicians and we're bringing our own brand of brutal death metal. Check it out you might like it.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Mike: Release our debut album, start playing some local shows, and spread the death.....
Don: The full-length should end up with about 10 songs and should be completed in the next couple months. We have cover art done by Chris Moyen. We're just going to search for a label and if we can't get on one we'll release it ourselves. 2013 is going to be busy for us.

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
