Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Chariots of the Gods is from Ottawa, Canada, and we`ve been around since 2007, touring North America, initially with former guitarist and bassist Chris C. and Chris M. That was the first line-up. We recorded our first EP "Reverence” in 2010, down in Ottawa. Chris M. then left for personal reasons, so we recruited Payam (bass) from another local band. Not long after that, Chris C. also had to leave, so, since I was a longtime friend of the band, I stepped in on guitar. We played  MORE shows, practiced real hard and recorded our first full length album "Tides of War” (Jan. 2013). It is an unstoppable train hahaha!

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
THAT question... Well, for us its simply ''Metal'', but since we have to label it, we call it something like ''Melodic Death-core Thrash'', if that makes any sense... We're not all the same age, so all of our influences are different but they all meet on common grounds. We really borrow elements in everything from, of course, all variants of metal, but also from a lot of rock, classical, and even hip-hop but bands like In Flames, Trivium, Children of Bodom, Annihilator and August Burns Red are more distinct influences.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
People have been using an important keyword when they describe us ; ENERGY. Glen Robinson (producer on ''Tides of War'') really worked good at capturing that ''in-your-face'' element of ours on tape. If you're interested in harmonized melodies, intricate riffs, ripping solos, bad-ass vocals, pounding drums and raw ENERGY, you should definitely consider buying our album. Its as simple as that.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Like I mentioned earlier, we released a 4-track EP called ''Reverence'' in the summer of 2010. This one was well received, and it allowed us to position ourselves on the Heavy Metal map, opening doors and giving us great gig opportunities. This upcoming release of ours, ''Tides of War'', is everything that ''Reverence'' was and wasn't ; we kept the core elements that define the band's sound, but we went further in the complexity of the arrangements, and we went heavier. We are, at the moment, in the middle of the album's pre-release promotion, but the feedback from the public and the media couldn't be better. People really seem to enjoy this new direction that we took.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Of course, that's the ultimate drug! Along the way, we've had the chance of playing with great bands such as Misfits, Voivod, Despised Icon, Kataklysm, Blind Witness, Misery Index, Martyr, Fuck the Facts, Blackguard, Neuraxis, The Agonist, and a lot more. We got a couple gigs planned for 2013, but nothing confirmed yet, so follow us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/chariotsofthegods) for updates on the matter!

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
I believe that we offer an interesting product,  as credible and as solid as any ''big band'' stuff. We've been putting a lot of time and effort on details, and we definitely think there's a part of the market for us out there. Things are really growing exponentially for us now, and like I said earlier, its an unstoppable train; we want all of you to be part of the ride.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
More touring, of course, and eventually record another album. We've got ideas floating around and we're toying with new riffs. We also have another video idea in the works.
