Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
I play music since the mid 90ies in several bands and projects.
Through the years my own way of making music and express myself through music was developed and so I founded COLDUN.
Started as a solo project back in 2006, I published two albums in 2007 and 2014. Now in 2020 COLDUN is formed as a real band with high-class musicians and long-time companions, who all are experienced through many bands und projects through the last 20 years. In this constitution we will publish the new album “Grand Sun Ritual” in January 2021.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music? 
We play metal music with a deep and epic atmosphere. There are some 70ies influences as the Hammond organs and some shots from bands like type o negative, alcest, lake of tears, woods of ypres, spiritual beggars. In other words – I have no idea what label I should hang on this music – but this bothers me not. It’s just intense atmospheric rock/metal. 

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
He should hear the songs via bandcamp or youtube and make an own decision. If you want to hear music from the heart, a mile beside the nowadays metal industry cash business stuff – maybe we are the ones.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media? 
COLDUN published two albums in 2007 and 2014. Now we will publish the new album “Grand Sun Ritual” in January 2021.
The overall reactions to all albums were very positive. There were nearly crazy reviews and comparisons to real big names in the metal history that flattered us  a lot.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
The question of live performances is not that easy at COLDUN - we haven't had one yet. The first two albums came out as a solo project and a live line-up was not intended. The new album was partly created as a band and with that, the possibilities of a potential debut gig or tour come to mind. But we are a little special on this topic - there are no details to be discussed yet. Let’s see what happens..

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
They should listen to the music – then they will know! We are musicians, nothing besides the music shall count. We make music because we want it from our hearts and not because of we have to – for some ego, money or what else reason. If you can hear that, you don’t need to know something more.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Right now, we fully concentrate on the promotion and publishing of the new album “Grand Sun Ritual”. It is planned to come out at 15.01.2021!
