Deadbangers #4

DEADBANGERS #4 / April 2011 - Denmark

Deadbangers Fanzine was established in 2009 and this is the fourth issue released by Olr Frostholm Foget (OFF), the man behind this zine. He started with a print-run of 150 copies for the first issue and reached a double amount of copies by this fourth effort, which is good, it means interest is kind of growing, at least from the distributors' part, don't know how good it sells.

Deadbangers #4 is a 48 photocopied pages, A5 format, English written zine focused mainly on Danish old-school underground extreme metal, containing interviews with:

Hands Of Orlac - old-school Doom Metal from Italy
Harvested - brutal Death Metal from Denmark
Sodomator (formerly known as Sadogoat) - blasphemous Black Death Metal from Denmark
Blackhorned - occult Thrash Black Metal from Denmark
Randy - classic Danish Heavy Metal band
Tornado Magazine - extreme metal magazine from Denmark published by Denial Of God's vocalist Ustumallagam
Damonacy - Death Metal band from USA formed in 1989 and split-up a few years later; interesting intie about their early days
Goatfago - Black Metal from Denmark (silly answers, nothing serious about them)
Blazing Eternity - long intie with this Atmospheric Doom Metal band from Denmark
Caustic - Danish Doom Death Metal band founded in 1991 and disbanded in 1997, interesting chat about their history
C'est La Guerre - satanic Doom Death Metal band from Japan
Bone - Speed Thrash Metal band from Denmark signed with Deadbangers Prod., OFF's own label

There is also a fest report from Royal Metal Fest 2011 held in Aarhus, Denmark, with acts like: Obituary, Malevolent Creation, Onslaught, Grave, Panzerchrist, Artillery, amongst others, and also an interview with one of the organizers of this fest, Ken Holst.
The reviews are how I like them, short and to the point; 33 reviews, not much but I liked the way they are written.
So if you're into reading printed zines and discovering a lot of underground metal gems, get in touch with OFF to get a copy of Deadbangers #4.

Issue #3 (June 2010) is also still available, but at its last copies (inties with: The Crypt Records, Pagan Rites, Hideous Invasion, Anal Vomit, Resistance, Black Wreath, Horned Almighty, Nigro Mantia).
