Review:
Third studio album from Austrian Deathtale, and their first in collaboration with the ever-growing Spanish Art Gates Records so things might shape well fro both parties if they do their best. Deathtale are proposing us here 11 tracks of Thrash Metal with serious shades of Melodeath and Groove Metal, a vibrant and energetic release with plenty of good moments to enjoy, plenty of variety and a balanced mix between melody and power / aggression. All tracks have their identity and have something to remember them by, but if I were to pick one I'd say the 7th track, Seven Sins, is my fave, it has the best guitar work and at the same time a fantastic energy dispersed all over. I'm not a fan of Patrick's vocal timbre, but that's purely a subjective matter, they remind me too much of Anselmo's vocals, actually of trying to sound like Anselmo rather than sounding like him. Anyway, all in all The Origin of Hate sounds curdled, well-planned and executed, carefully built and well produced, no doubt the peak of Deathtale's career until now, so do yourselves a favor and give it a try.
