Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
I Have Already Failed You is a concept album about a man suffering from depression and becoming a father while the world is ending around him. It explores feelings of not being or doing enough and the fear of somehow passing on the disease to the child. Is it even right to bring a child into this world that is slowly ending?

How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
The music combines slow crushing riffs and stripped down drum beats with dark ambient soundscapes. It is intended to be heavy sonically, atmospherically and emotionally. Something along the lines of Amenra, Cult of Luna and the like.

Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
The material was gathered slowly over a period of a few years and re-recorded a few times from scratch during that time. This is currently a solo project and I did everything from recording and artwork to mastering. I used my home studio and the practice space of another band I am in since that has not seem much use during the pandemic.

What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
All the cover art was shot by me on an old film camera. The lyrics are about the pain of existence in our modern time, mental health issues and the effect that has on a person and people around them. If there’s some kind of link I think I am it.

What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band’s aims at the moment?
My aim is to make more music and get it released so people can hear it. That is all currently.

Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
So far there are the following physical releases available. Planet K Records (ITA) CD 200 copies, Herrecords (ARG) CD 100 copies, Depressive Illusions Recordings (UKR) cassette 66 copies. More editions are on the way.

Where and how will you promote this new release?
I have approached countless labels and review outlets about it and have already received some good coverage.

Where can we order it from?
devastatinglight.bandcamp.com or various distros around the world
