Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Häwkmoon
: First of all, I want to say that it's a pleasure to be interviewed in Pest Zine. Well, so EDENKAISER was founded in 2009 in Barcelona. At the beginning, it was a power trio -Lianne Krossburner on bass, Khorum on drums and me on guitar and vocals-, but one day at the rehearsal room, I had a severe throat hurting, so bassplayer started to sing, and all we thought the line up had to change.
Lianne Krossburner: I tried to sing and play the bass at the same time, but I felt that we had to find another bassplayer; I wanted to be focused only in vocals, so then, we found Vherveroth. At that moment, Khorum left the band and Striker replaced him just after "Into the Eternal War" demo recording.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Häwkmoon
: EDENKAISER has several influences, from german Thrash to Death and Black Metal, but our music is always tagged as only Black Metal. We love bands as Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, Slayer, Venom, Emperor, the old Voivod stuff, Bathory, the first Sepultura, Darkthrone, Deströyer 666, and many more, and all these bands, in one or another way, has influenced our style.
Lianne Krossburner: One time, after one show, one guy told us: "your style is weird... it's a kind of warm Black Metal, not cold! Your music doesn't freeze... it can burn you!" We think he was right.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Lianne Krossburner: EDENKAISER was created to honour the 80's extreme Metal sound and the early norwegian and swedish Black Metal stuff, so if you love the primitive, raw and creepy atmospheres, this is your band.
Häwkmoon: Nowadays, the real attitude in which the extreme Metal was based at the beginning, is being lost. Many good quality bands wih the same sound production, and no real message in many of them... For this reason, we want to recover this dark and wild feelings.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Lianne Krossburner: In february 2014 we participated in the official Vomitory tribute with the song "Inferno". At this moment we were recording our first work, the EP "Doomsday Juggernaut", in which Secthdamon (Emperor, Zyklon, Myrkskog, Odium, 1349...) put backing vocals in the song "Enter Mephisto". It was great to count with him. The EP was self-released, but one month later, the british label Cold Raw records re-edited it. Also, due the good reviews it received, the spanish label Morbid Shrine re-released it in tape format. It was a very stressing time; Häwkmoon and I were working in biographic books of two bands -Megadeth and Slayer-, and also we were confirming the first gigs with EDENKAISER. Certainly, it was worth it.
Häwkmoon: We had never expected this welcome from the extreme Metal audiences, and this gave us the force to record our second work, the full-lenght "Dominum Ex Mortis", in which Tony "Demolition Man" Dolan (Venom, Atomkraft, M:Pire of Evil...) put vocals in the song "Hail to the Godslayer". For us, as die-hard Venom fans, having Dolan in our LP was like a dream. "Prime Evil" is a cult. "Dominum Ex Mortis" was released this month (february 2015) through BlackSteel Music, an underground label and promotion agency created by us (there are plans of co-distribution as well). We have to say that with BlackSteel are involved in some tributes -we are preparing a tribute to the mighty Slayer- and some compilation albums with worldwide extreme Metal bands.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Lianne Krossburner
: Past year we were touring some dates in France, Spain and few gigs in eastern Europe (Romania and Moldova) with Coldwar and Casus. One of those dates was at November to Dismember Metal Fest, in Bucharest, where we joined stage with bands such as Tankard, Asphyx or Esoteric. In this year, we have confirmed a german tour in october with the Thrash Metal band Heresy, and there are plans to tour in China, Italy, Finland and our country as well. To early 2016, we haave received an opportunity to tour in South America, so it seems we will be pretty busy in the coming months.

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
Häwkmoon
: We cannot understand the music for masses; EDENKAISER was created to claim the old extreme Metal spirit, and this sometimes doesn't combine with clear sounds and ornate productions. Exteme Metal music is honest, it's what it is, nothing more, nothing less. We want to be a really wild and primitive band, and the media, press or zines could be interested or not. We don't care.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Häwkmoon
: Inmediate plans are to present and promote the new album "Dominum Ex Mortis", prepare our cover to the tribute to Slayer and in few months we will be working in a split with two new songs plus a cover.

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
Lianne Krossburner
: In Youtube you can listen all our stuff, in addition to watch some live clips. Also through Morbid Shrine and Cold Raw record labels, and Barbatos Distro you can get our physical material, and we have uploaded (free download) in Bandcamp the new album "Dominum Ex Mortis" (https://edenkaiser.bandcamp.com/).
