Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Forsaken Crown was created by Cédric Tiborcz (drummer) and Thomas Vandries (bassist) in 2014. We wanted first to create a hardcore/metalcore band. We made most of our first songs then Alexandre Malachenko (singer) and Matthieu Leclercq (guitarist) joined the project. We started to play live in May 2015. Julien Moury (guitarist) joined the band in December 2015 to complete the lineup. We played until March 2017 and decided to make a break for personal reasons and to create our first album.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Our band is influenced by a lot of different genre like deathcore, deathmetal or blackmetal but we don’t want to say, “ok let’s create a deathcore album”, we try to mix every influence of each member to create something we like, that could be mostly identified as deathcore.
The bands that inspire us are Thy art is murder, Carnifex, Oceano, Aborted, Cattle Decapitation, Infant Annihilator, Vulvodynia,   …

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
We are still an underground band and we did our best to come out with an album that represents well our influences. We don't stick much to a specific genre that's why we think that every metalhead that loves heavy stuff should like our tracks. It doesn't sound the same as any other band, yet, you can clearly identify which band inspired us for a riff or another. Even if you don't want to buy it, you can still listen to it on different streaming platforms.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Back in the days before our break, we released 2 songs on youtube, and one of them is a lyrics video. In 2019, our first album “The Ignorant One” came out in 27 April. As far as we can see, a lot of people, webzine and different media liked it, so we’ll try to keep going that way.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
That’s our main activity as we started to play live before our first album. We are back on the stage since the 4th of May, and it’d be a pleasure to play in a lot of different cities/festivals/gigs. We already have plans for the end of 2019 with a few gigs.

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
We are a self-made band and we work hard for what we want to achieve, that’s why we made a 2 years break. We recorded our album ourselves and saved money to have the best quality we could have.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We’re planning to play live to promote our album, in a lot of different cities in different events (gigs, festivals…). We are already thinking about the next album and few ideas are already on the table.

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
