Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Framferd is a black-/Viking metal band from Tønsebrg, Norway. The band was established in 2002 and have since produced 2 demos and 2 full length albums. The first album "Djevelskap” was released and distributed by the band itself and Dark Side of Norway in 2006, and the album received good reviews both from magazines and onlinezines. The second album "Landgang” was recorded in 2009, and was released in November 2009, signed on Black Lotus Productions. We are currently in the studio recording our third album that will be released in spring 2011. The linup is currently:
Kvist: Guitars
Rystad: Guitars
Nødset: Drums
Langbach: Bass and vocals.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
We have always had our roots in Black Metal, but our influences have changed a little bit since the beginning. The first album "Djevelskap” had a lot of symphonic black metal elements in it, like Dimmu Borgir and Old Man’s Child. The second album "Landgang” had less of that, and was more inspired by viking-/black metal, like Enslaved. On our new album we are really inspired by Enslaved and Dissection.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
That’s a good question, hehe. If you want to support a dedicated and hard working underground metal band, then you should buy our albums. We have a lot of different elements in our music like progressive metal, black ‘n’ roll, black metal and viking metal. So hopefully a metalhead will find something he or she likes. There are a lot of good bands out there, and if you haven’t heard of us before, then maybe you’ll discover that we’re one of them.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
The first album "Djevelskap” was released and distributed by the band itself and Dark Side of Norway in 2006, and the album received good reviews both from magazines and onlinezines. The second album "Landgang” was recorded in 2009, and was released in November 2009, signed on Black Lotus Productions.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
The last year we have been focusing more on writing new songs and recording our third album. But we still have managed to play a couple of gigs. Two weeks ago we played in Prague at the Death Recommends festival. It was a blast! The crowd and the other bands we played with were really great. In February we played at the Hammerslag festival in our hometown, Tønsberg, as we have done a couple of times before. It was also a great experience for us.

What sould labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
Framferd has existed in almost 10 years now. In those years we’ve evolved and learned quite a bit. The first two albums were good, we weren’t really happy with the sound. On our upcoming third album I think we have taken a big step further. The production and sound is much better now then it was on the previous albums, and the songs are stronger and better arranged. I really feel that it’s our time now, and that we’re stronger then before.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We’re currently finishing up our new album that will released in spring 2011. We’re also shooting a music video for our new single called "Aatseleter”. After the release we will try to play as much gigs as possible and promote it like hell.

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
We have a homepage, www.framferd.com, were you can se pictures, read news and order stuff. We’re also on myspace, www.myspace.com/framferd and Spotify.
