Review:
Another material that unfortunately is out of our target and/or comfort zone, far from the powerful Metal we're used to. Glen are hailing from Berlin, Germany and that makes perfect sense when you start playing their music, the capital of free, expressive art often delivers such experimental bands. This is the band's second full-length, 4 years after their debut, Falling Elevators, and it seems that it continues the work started then, meaning a journey through repetitive, experimental, psychedelic, hypnotic Prog Rock or Kraut Rock, an instrumental only journey that is except for the last track where the vocals appear surprisingly and give the band's music a totally new dimension. I have to admit it's pretty engaging to listen to, mesmerizing at times even, and at the same time creative and surprising, but to me it sounds like a long jam-session between friends at the rehearsal place, it's not my cup of tea, but it's what Anesthetize Productions are currently known for pushing to the World. Production is top-notch, organic and clear sounding, nothing to complain, and the digipak inside artwork depicts a story based on the Moby Dick novel, in contrast with the outside (front and back covers) that's art made of power-cables, and again I don't get the connection, but I'm not Berlin-level when it comes to open-mindedness either.
