Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
The main decision about Hell:on came to us in 2005. We already knew each other and occasionally played together in different other bands, then we decided to make something more serious – so Hell:on was born. Several months after the foundation we participated in one of the biggest Ukrainian metal festivals – Metal Heads Mission. We played on the one stage with Napalm Death, so the start was really great. At this date (the end of 2012) we have three full albums, several EP and video clips, and nine tours (four of which were European).
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
We play thrash/groove/death metal. However it greatly depends on the album. Each our album is slightly different. We love to joke that we play Cossack metal – the origin city of Hell:On is Zaporozhye, which was the cradle of freedom loving Cossacks (Ukrainian warriors).
Bands that influenced our activity are Metallica, Slayer and Sepultura. Of course the list is much more longer but those are the major ones.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Actually, we come to play, not to sell something. The Music is the only reason why we do what we do. We just trying to do our best. And we hope people will believe us. Becouse our emotions is true, our passion inside our tracks. And we hope the reason should be the same when you buy the CDs of Metallica, Slayer and Sepultura (as you already know the list is not full). At least we strive to such level.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
We released three full albums: "Strong Enough” (2006), "Reborn” (2008) and "Age of Oblivion” (2012). We also have the video clips, you can find it on a youtube.
According to the reviews of different web and paper magazines and different sites of metal music, people like our music. Concerts and gigs only prove this!
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Yes, we play a lot. We have rather big amount of separate concerts and festivals. We had nine tours four of which were European. We try to have two tours per year (each tour is about two-three weeks long). Of course we would like to have more long tour with some more credible band then ours.
What sould labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
First of all we want and can work. And we love what we doing. We can make great shows. We have good skills as musicians. However it’s up to you to decide ;)
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We plan to make a video on one of the songs from our new album "Age of Oblivion”. We would like to invite some rock star musician to participate in our next album. Next summer we will play on a several big openair festivals in Europe. And for sure next year we will start to make new album.
