Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Junior Bruce was formed in DeLand, FL in 2007 and we got our name from the 1975 film ‘Death Race 2000’. We’ve got Scott Angelacos on vocals Tom Crowther on bass Jeff McAlear drums and Chris Hayden/Brett Walker on guitars.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
I think our style has a little bluesy thing going on here and there backed up with the intent to gut punch whoever wants some love. There’s an obsession with fuzz and tone that rounds out what we do. I’d say a few bands that have influenced us as a whole are Sabbath, Bad Brains, Pink Floyd, Motörhead (way to many to name!) The tags I see associated with us are Stoner Metal, Doom Metal and Sludge Metal. I think it’s fair to say we visit all of those areas.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Because it’s Metal, bro! Metal riffs, Metal lyrics, Metal beats, and Metal artwork!!

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
‘The Headless King’ LP (2012) on A389 Records was our debut. I think people liked it because A389 released two more of our records shortly after. ‘The Oceans Daughter’ EP (2014) and ‘Endless Descent’ LP (2016). From the reviews they all seem to have went over pretty well, but who knows.....they all could of been lying!

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Why yes, we do play live and it’s glorious. Bars, clubs, festivals, basements you name it. As far as recent activity? Well, the whole Pandemic thing.

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
We are well seasoned, and baked to perfection. We are succulent and delicious.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We are going to be part of “Mutants of the Monster: Inverted Atomic Lore”. It will be a virtual event on January 1st and 2nd. Other than that no live shows for a while because of that asshole Covid over there. ALSO, we have a brand new record coming out In a few weeks on October 30th called ‘Pray For Death’ through Sludgelord Records. It’s a doozy!

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
Spotify, iTunes, all those places and you can visit our Bandcamp to buy vinyl and digital downloads.
To order a CD of the new record go to The Sludgelord Records Bandcamp page: https://thesludgelord.bandcamp.com/album/pray-for-death
