Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
K.A.S.K. was formed in 2006 in Krasnystaw. The beginnings were hard because of rotations in the line-up, hardware problems, etc. The most serious crisis came in 2007 when there were the next problems with the members, and the band practically did not exist these days. In 2008 K.A.S.K. returned in the new line-up and recorded first demo entitled "Cactus Core"-which consisted of four song: "Everytime I Die" (played by the band even today), "Why?" "My Last Word" and "Where Is God?". At the end of the year K.A.S.K. changed the drummer, so joined a new member: Andrew "Satas" Stepniak. The period 2009-2010 proceed mainly on systematic concerts (including a mini-tour with Deathbringer, Reality In Pain & ADHD) and stylistic transformation towards brutal death metal / deathcore. Year 2011 brings the release of the first EP "Brutal Abstraction", which was promoted on "Spring Defloration Tour" (played with our friends from Dust N Brush). Current members are: "Kelso" - Kamil Michalak (guitar), "Wafel" - Sebastian Witkowski (vocals), Andrew "Satas" Stepniak (drums), Marcin "Kwiecio" Kwiecinski (bass/inhale vocals) and Peter "Peter" Sulej (guitar).

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
We named our music death metal/hardcore, because our style is a mix of these genres. We play more death metal music than typical deathcore band and we don`t wanna be associate with new school mainstream bands like Bring Me The Horizon, Emmure or Attack Attack. We are rather into music in vein of Job For A Cowboy, Carnifex, Heaven Shall Burn, Ingested. We have a very wide range of inspirations. We like a various types of music - all types of metal, good rock, dubstep, hardcore/punk, classical music etc. We aren`t narrow-minded :)

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
They don`t have to buy our music - if they will download it, it enough :) But if someone have a CD collecting fetish and he want to buy it, we can provide him - we tried our best to give to listeners the best product as we can at this moment. I think that the good review, which we got in various zines could encourage a potential listener to get know with our music.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
We have released a debut EP "Brutal Abstraction" which contains 5 tracks. We also have a first demo "Cactus Core", which is already unavailable and we don`t want to spread it, because it isn`t a representative thing for our band at the moment. In 2009 we released a single song "Fear Of The Innocent", which song we still play on gigs. "Brutal Abstraction" has an only good or very good reviews so far and we would like that this state will be permanent:) Our new songs have a great reception on gigs too. We are very satisfied that this stuff is enjoyed by heavy sound fans.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Yeah, we are an active bands live, but the situation in Poland with a metal gigs are not too good, so we don`t play as often as we would like to. Unfortunately polish fans aren`t into this type of music so much yet. We are probably too metal band for hardcore fans and "too core"  for metalhead. But this state turns into good direction, because a young "wave" fans of heavy music are more open-minded and observing a new genres which are forming and which are popular especially in the west countries.

What sould labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
I think that we are the band, which still growing up in every sense. We still try to be better on our instruments and we absorb a lot of various music, so we make our horizons wider. That why I think that our next stuff will be so much better than "Brutal Abstraction". We aren`t an enemies of new solutions in death metal, but simultanously we want to maintain the apropriate proportions between "old school" and "new school" in this genre.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We are still promoting our "Brutal Abstraction" EP and already composing a new album. We have a lot of riffs, which we have to glue it in the new tracks.  I hope we will play a few good shows in autumn and winter. The most likely in October "Brutal Abstraction" will be released in Sounds Of Madness Records in the quite innovative form of release, but we are still waiting for details.
