Katari was formed back in 2006 and since then released a few demos, an EP a split and finally a debut full-length album in 2018, album that I think attracted more attention upon the band from overseas hence this deal with Hungarian TDP which resulted into a tape compilation featuring two demos, the EP and even 2 rehearsal tracks never released before, close to an hour of material from the Peruvian hell, a nice tribute to this band's activity if you ask me. 
Getting to the actual music on it, unfortunately we're dealing with a very, very thin production that makes the tracks sound like Punk, or Punk Thrash at most, and at times the upbeat tempo and said production make the tracks sound Ska Punk-like happy which annoys me to tears. It's clear the band is everything except happy and serene, and the vocals are the perfect proof for that: very good, evil-sounding, venomous grimy vocals from the bowels of hell. This is happening on the first 4 tracks, the tracks from the At Peace EP from 2013; the next three tracks (from the Extermination demo 2007, are somehow in the same manner, but the sound quality is rehearsal-like now and that sounds better, no question about it, but the next ones, the 4 tracks that made the Darkening All demo from 2010, are the best sounding here because there's more depth and aggression to both guitars and drums, the production is heavier and the Punk-feeling is gone (yey!), replaced by a dirtier, '80's like Extreme Metal sound production. The vocals are in the same manner on all tracks, and that's probably the best thing about this compilation, apart from the cassette presentation which is flawless: a kick-ass good looking black cassette with on-body print and an 8 pages j-card. 
To sum it up I'd say if Katari are a kult band in Peru this tape makes total sense, it's fans will enjoy the hell out of it, but otherwise I don't see any particular value in it unfortunately. Check it out yourselves on Bandcamp before buying.
