Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Well the history of our band started around 2007 with Jonas Reisenauer (Guitar, Vocals), Tobias Parke (Drums), Tom Heinz (Bass), and Tobias Dahs (Guitar ). After a few years of practice Fabian Gocht (Keyboards, Backing Vocals) joined the band and we headed to the studio in 2010 to record our first EP "From The Desolate Inside". The EP gained a lot of great reviews in the german press, we we're able to play live on Summer Breeze Open Air 2010 and sign our first record-deal with Bret Hard Records. With the new label on our back we also started the work on our double concept-album "Beyond The Gates Of
Imagination", with the first part being released in September 2011. Again the album gained a lot of good feedback and we continued to tour through Germany for the year 2011 and 2012.
And now we are back with the second part of the concept-album, entitled "The Aeons Torn - Beyond The Gates Of Imagination Pt.2", which will be out in early 2013.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Actually it is very difficult to describe our music, simply because when we started the band we set the goal for ourselves to not repeat something that we've heard before. That's why we really abandoned all the rules of a single genre and decided to include every influence that feels fitting for a certain song or atmosphere that we'd like to create. But to get the readers a brief outline, probably our music could be described as Melodic Death Metal with a big classical influence and progressive song-structures. Because of this wide set musical horizon we have also a great number of bands that have influenced us. That list goes from classical artists as Johann Sebastian Bach, over to Wintersun, Blind Guardian and also Children Of Bodom.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
It's been always our goal to offer something special for the listener, not only by music but also by giving each album a concept that is also reflected in the artwork and booklet of the CD. Which actually, at least in our opinion, gives a lot more depth to the way you experience an album, a thing that is not very common, especially in Melodic Death Metal.
Another reason would be that over the past year's we have really developed a mix of genres and influences that you will not find from any other band.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Up to now we have released one EP and two full-albums. The first release was "From The Desolate Inside", our first demo. It was our first try to take the band a step further and it was received very well by the public, not only did it help to get us a slot on Summer Breeze Open Air, it was also voted "Demo of the month" in the german Metal Hammer Magazine.
Following that we released the two part concept album "Beyond The Gates Of Imagination Pt.1" and "The Aeons Torn - Beyond The Gates Of Imagiantion Pt.2". Both of them were overall received very well by the public and also largely by the media. Even though we also got some mixed reviews, but that is something that i consider actually a natural thing especially when you are mixing a very wide and unusual range of musical styles. But in case of our fan-base we are very happy with the developement of the past year. We were able to gain a lot of new and very loyal fans all over the globe, from USA, through Japan and even New Zealand.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
We are a live band, simply because a live experience is something very special. And we have also been very active in that segment in the last years. We started in 2009 with around 10 local shows in our area, but with the releases of the last record we were able to expand that a lot further. Up to now we have played a large number of club shows as well as Festivals all across Germany.

What sould labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
I think the most important thing that labels, zines and also promoters should know about us is that we are a band that is very passionate about their music and is putting all their forces into creating good music. Another thing, which is probably interesting for labels, is that we are not willing to do any compromises in order to increase our sales or anything. We have certain vision of our music and the direction we want to take this band into. We've had this discussion before, but we rather turned down an offer instead of compromising to get a bigger record deal. That also why we are very happy with our situation at Bret Hard Records, because they leave us full artistic freedom.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Well, with the new album being released the first plan is to start playing live in order to promote the album. We've also allready booked shows in Germany, but we are currently planning a lot more in that direction. And as always, we are also slowly gathering ideas for the follow up to "The Aeons Torn". But we have just started with ideas for a concept, i guess around the end of this year we will probably start to work more intense on the next album.
