Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
MUSIC FROM THE VOID started in 2012 as a one man project of Myrkwood. The music is a combination of black and doom metal inspired riffs and is inspired by depression, mental illness, alcoholic intoxication, the dark side of human nature, dark paganism and witchcraft. During September/October 2012 Myrkwood recorded and released a first demo "First Steps In Murder", soon followed by "Herfst", recorded and released in November 2012. In June 2013 Raven joined MUSIC FROM THE VOID as singer introducing a female voice to the music. She decides to leave MUSIC FROM THE VOID beginning March 2014. In the months after Raven leaving the project, Gorm joins as drummer and Masae as singer. You can read an extended bio here: http://tinyurl.com/mt9zme8

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Our style is a combination of doom and black metal inspired riffs. There are no specific bands that influenced the music; the main influence comes randomly from doom and black metal music.
If we have to name a band: Hellhammer, Celtic Frost and Ramesses are definitely an inspiration.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
We are not really busy with selling or marketing our music, but if you are in for a mix of doom and black metal, than you should take a moment of your time and listen to our music and see whether you can connect to it or not.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
When Music From The Void was still a one man project, Myrkwood released two self-recorded and self-produced demos: First Steps In Murder and Herfst. At that time, all songs except Gipfelkreuz were recorded instrumental. Herfst got a positive review from a writer of an independent underground magazine. Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
For the moment we are not playing live, we are missing a bass player and a second guitarist to bring our music live. We could take session musicians, but for the moment we are still hoping to find like-minded full members to join our project.

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
Music From The Void started with the idea of creating a crude underground musical project and see where it will lead to. Our main motivation is to create music and images independent from the music industry and the sometimes restricting expectations one may find in different subcultures of metal. The main idea is to make crude non-commercial, incomprehensible, insane and cross-grained music, but in a way that one can still listen to it. At this moment, everything which is created for Music From The Void is in self-production, the music as well as the videos.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Recording as much of possible of our songs and creating DIY made videos alongside of them. Since we are recording our music by ourselves, we are permanently trying to improve the quality of our recordings. Another plan for the near future is to find a full member bassist.

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can listen to our band on the internet, on our homepage http://musicfromthevoid.com
We are planning to release new self-produced demos in the future, meanwhile you can contact us anytime if you like to buy mp3 files of our songs. Just send us an email at musicfromthevoid666@gmail.com
