Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.We start ano 1994, we have released 6 albums and we have played live with bands like Morbid Angel, Dissection, Gorgoroth, Rotting Christ, Arcturus etc. We have toured several times. Most important tour was "Apocalypse of the Ancient Ones” in Latin America, when the band was the headliner for the first time. Our new album is named «ΖΗΤΩ Ο ΘΑΝΑΤΟΣ» and is the most extreme thing we have created so far.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
We characterize ourselves as a satanic brutal black/death metal band. After 19 years of band life I don’t think we have any bands influencing us. Maybe I can mention some musicians that have impressed us with their work. Some of them are guitarists like: Downing/Tipton, Hanneman/King, Roger Tiegs, Trey Azagtoth, Erik Rutan, Robert Vigna, Ted Arvid Skjellum, μπασίστες: Hugh Stephen James Mingay, Frank Bello, Rob "Blasko" Nicholson, Alex Webster, Frank Carlton Serafino Ferrana, singers: Ross Dolan, Tom Araya, Thomas Kronenes, Jared W. Anderson, drummers: Dave Lombardo, Derek Roddy, Gylve Fenris Nagell, Jan Axel Blomberg, Peten "Commando” Sandova, composers: Yusaf Parvez, Carl Michael Eide, Kristoffer Rygg, Varg Vikerness. My favorite bands that I will hear till the end are fucking Slayer, Dark Throne and Wasp!
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Because they are damn good.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Like I mentioned before we have released 6 albums and we have received very good feedback. We are a recognizable band that whatever we choose to play we will have a small audience that we meet every time we visit a city for a concert.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?Yes, we have played several live concerts all over the world. For sure the most crazy and best tour was the one in Latin America. We were 2 months on the road and we passed through all the crazy situations that a band lives in a tour so big, haha. Also I liked a tour we did with jarboe for 14 days. It was a strange tour because we are a brutal band, while Jarboe has a completely different audience. Her fans must have freaked with us, haha.
What sould labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
I think that there is no zine or label that doesn’t know about Naer Mataron, regardless if they like us or not.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
For now we promote our new album throught interviews or live concerts and in general we try for the best.
