Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
I started Queen of Heathens during the Summer season of 2009 and the band has always and will always be one member writing all of the music, which is myself.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Very raw at its core with a grating wall of guitar sound that focuses on the feelings conveyed by the atmosphere of every song. I feel the focus of Black Metal should be the ambiance and atmosphere and I try to make every aspect of the songs contribute. Velvet Cacoon and Burzum are the biggest influences for all I do.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Because they legitimately would like to fund this band or they truly enjoy the music. Neither demo I have released has a physically release by any label but I am willing to distribute both for free at any time. If a label picks up these or future releases, I really see the people who enjoy this style of droning black noise with the pinch of beauty as my target market.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
So far two demos have been released, an all Dark Ambient release titled Cimmerian Shade, which is a chilling four song work of thick ambiance and distortion. The other release, I - A Collective of Stories, is a seven song release with an ambient intro and six Black Metal tracks. So far the reception has been lukewarm to positive, nothing very negative, but I'm hoping to get more people listening.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Queen of Heathens will never play live.

What sould labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
I feel that every song has a captivating quality, almost like a mystique. As I stated, I really love the atmosphere and the songwriting is geared towards this perfect idea of atmosphere. Every song has it's own story to tell, which is part of the reason for the name of the demo, and as such every song has a different overall feel which is the main draw.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
I'm currently writing songs for my next release Ethereality. I would like to hopefully get this release picked up by some sort of distributer, but if worse comes to worse I will probably try to finance a self release for it. I don't want this to be another demo, I want to expand the raw sound that I've built already and focus a lot more on the songwriting in general, such as the final song of the album being all clean guitar, possibly acoustic, haven't decided yet. I just want to grow and mature and this next release will surely help.

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
There are songs posted on www.myspace.com/queenofheathens but if you send an email to queenofheathens@gmail.com I will be willing to send anyone either demo they wish, and possibly work out sending out a CDR if anyone were to be interested.
