Duo from Finland started in 2018 presenting their debut release, Of Atavistic Fury & Visions, a 5 tracks EP clocking 24 minutes of epic, dark, ethereal and at the same time sinister and brutal Black Metal, basically continuing in grand fashion what Finland has started with bands like Horna, Azaghal, Catamenia, Thy Serpent and the likes. Mostly fast paced but with plenty of mid-tempo breathing passages, built on a intense and very dense layer of drums, fat and supportive bass lines, vicious, evil Black Metal shrieks supported at times by background growls, and above all, what in my opinion is the band's highlight, a fantastic guitar work that perfectly mixes sinister and grave riffs and melodic leads into a heavy, massive, captivating wall of sound, all cleverly constructed and structured, building that epic atmosphere that makes this EP great. Wow, this is a band that makes a heavy mark even with their debut EP, hopefully more and even better things are to come soon from them. If you're into Finnish Black Metal (like I am) you shouldn't miss this EP, it is exactly what you're expecting and more!
