Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
(Taylor) Back in 2007, Scalpel's first vocalist Greg Smith and guitarist Taylor Brennan were interested in exploring lyrical themes related to medical malpractice and ghoulish violence.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
(Manny) We definitely play death metal with a psychedelic speed freak motor. We are influenced by many acts from all genres of music. However, our favorites still seem to be artists like Black Sabbath, Pantera, Cannibal Corpse, Cryptopsy, Carcass, Death, Dismember, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Inveracity.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
(Taylor) They should only buy our music if they wish for their genitals to be detonated into a mist of bloody madness. If they make it through the whole album, chances are that remnants of it will remain in the listeners spine forever. Scalpel flashbacks are guaranteed with the purchase of our newest album, METHODS TO DELUSION.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
(Taylor) We have released one previous full-length, which we have toured in support of and shipped copies to people all around the globe.
People seemed to enjoy our style, however our newest album features a different line-up with guitarists Manny and myself assuming vocal duties.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
(Taylor) We have had some killer oppurtunities playing live opening for some of our biggest influences. We've shared the stage with acts like Morbid Angel, Malignancy, Skinless, and Arsis. We absolutely love playing live and being possessed by the demon of death metal. Playing live is cathartic and exhilirating for everyone in the band, and its something that makes us all sickeningly happy.

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
(Taylor) They haven't heard anything like it because it comes from such an abhorrent psychological place. Imagine drowning in a sea of random diseased bodily fluids while high on methamphetamine and other various lethal chemicals.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
(Taylor) We plan to release our second full-length album, METHODS TO DELUSION and hit the road in support of it. We want to spread our sickness as far as possible so that others can indulge in the savagery that is Scalpel.

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
