Isn't it ironic to have both Industrial and Medieval in labeling a band's music? I admit this is my own combination of terms, so I might be wrong, but to me that's how this third full-length album from this German duo sounds like, a combination of medieval harmonies and compositions (and apparently lyrical themes as well, but again I wouldn't bet on it since I don't know German language) with industrial drumming section and effects all over the place, definitely teh first time I hear this combination, think of a mix between Mysticum and Abigor with the rawness or a German sung vocal section. The emphasis of the guitar work is on the atmosphere, on creating melodic and medieval soundscapes, rather than on reaching a high technical level, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, on the contrary, it takes the music to a more accessible and catchy; some parts of the album tent to contradict my previous statement as we're delivered some almost Progressive guitar harmonies, but overall I stand by my words. The album is interesting from start to finish, and if you will, it "describes" a rougher, more abrasive side of the Medieval times as opposed to most such releases which tend to add a bit more melody than would be necessary; it's an album that will grow on you with each new audition, so it did to me, and I'm glad I had the chance to meet the music of this German duo.
