Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
SHADOWMASS is a Blackened Heavy Metal band from Athens. Their first strike came in December of 2019 with the release of their self-titled album, followed by EUROPE UNDER BLACK METAL FIRE II tour alongside SUFFOCATION, BELPHEGOR and HATE.
September 2021 marks the second offering of SHADOWMASS, an EP that bears the title: "OCULUS DIABOLI". Expect nothing less but pure Ravaging Metal Of Death
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Although our first album was more or less a thrash metal release, we followed different/more extreme musical paths on the second release. We usually describe it as Blackened Heavy Metal influenced by Mercyful Fate, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Aura Noir, Darkthrone, Morbid Angel and many more bands of the 80’s and 90’s era.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Because the music is played by metalheads for metalheads.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
We have two official releases; a full length album (self titled) that came out on December 2019 through Soman Records and an EP that bears the title: “Oculus Diaboli” and came out on September 2021 through Metal Throne Productions.
The feedback is really positive so far and the fans are supporting our effort.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Of course we do! We have toured in the beginning of 2020 for the promotion of our first album joining forces with Suffocation, Belphegor and Hate for Europe Under Black Death Metal Fire II and we also played many gigs in Greece.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
We are always focused on creating new music and evolve our skills as a band.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Now that live gigs are happening again we are planning to play as much shows as possible for the promotion of the new EP and also record our second full-length.
