Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
This is the first release from my new solo project. It’s a four track EP clocking in at approximately 24 minutes. It starts off with a rather dark and slow tune before hitting the listener with track 2, which is the most brutal one on the EP. It even got some blast beats in it. Track 3 is pretty much a bad acid trip and the final one is another ultra-heavy closer. It turned out really good I think for a debut release. I’m really satisfied with the result.

How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sound like anything we might have heard before?
I prefer to label it as Progressive Metal because that’s such a broad genre that allows me to do whatever I want with it hehe. The music mainly takes inspiration from the metal scene that existed about 15 years ago with bands like Nevermore and Strapping Young Lad. I have also added some pretty cool ambient passages and synthwave influences which I think gives it all quite a unique twist.

Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
This is a 100% home-made creation. The guitar parts are played by an old friend of mine called Nino Vukovic, who usually plays with Immaculate and Tyranex. Then he gave me the guitar tracks and I put it all together and programmed the drums and added the keyboards and samples. This was the first time I tried to mix everything myself as well which was a real pain in the ass haha. The whole process took about two years I think from when we started recording to the finished product.

What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
Yes it is actually. The cover art is inspired by the title track “Ectogenesis”, which is a process of artificial birth that scientists have been experimenting with recently. In this day and age technology and science has been developed at such rate that mostly any Science Fiction topic is made possible to some degree. I find it really amusing to take real topics like that and put them in a very dark and dystopian context. The lyrics deals with many different topics but that’s where most of it is.

What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
The main goal with this project is to make music that I personally like and enjoy working with. Then it wouldn’t hurt if it gets spread around a little so more people can hear and perhaps gather a few people who also like it along the way. I have more music waiting to be processed so there will be more things coming from us in the future.

Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
Right now it is only released on CD. But there will be a cassette version of it as well which we hopefully will release this summer if everything goes as planned.

Where and how will you promote this new release?
Mainly through zines like yours and various social media groups and such things. I also found a PR company that I will try out and see how it works. I think the best way to promote good music for anyone is, and has always been, word of mouth thou. When people really like a band or an artist they start talking about it and spread it. And so it gets the attention of more people and so on. That’s a way that always have worked to some extent I believe.

Where can we order it from?
It’s available through our website www.terravoid.se . There you can find everything you need when it comes to Terravoid.
