Review:
A mix of Punk, Hardcore and Groove Metal is what the third studio album from Philadelphia based quartet The End A.D. brings us. It seems they like Germany since all their albums are released here, the first on Massacre Records and the next two on Fastball Music, but my guess is they haven't toured Europe yet. Anyway, the band is fronted by a nice looking blonde lady named Ami Friend, but she sounds like she's nowhere near a friend of yours (check out these lyrics for a taste: "get fucked you dumb dick, I don't forget I don't forgive"), her constant outpour of rage from start to finish is outstanding, she never falls into sounding soft and mellow, on the contrary, she even goes into a Black Metal shriek-like frenzy like a demented witch, and even when she sounds calmer, she actually sounds strict and commanding, pretty cool! The instrumental part is quite stripped down from unnecessary effects and gimmicks, it sounds organic and straight forward moving through all above-mentioned genres, keeping a nice variety throughout. I wouldn't know what to compare this with, but I guess fans of bands like Marylin Manson, Machine Head, or Anthrax will find something to enjoy here. Released in excellent looking (killer cover artwork!) 4-panel Digipak CD with 12 pages booklet featuring all lyrics.
