Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.First of all, we are from Montevideo a capital of Uruguay in south America.
Thy Dominion born in 1997 as a parallel project of Necropolys (Brutal Death) and Requiem Aeternam (Death Metal). In 1998 we record our first demo The age of the evil, thanks to him we obtain in 1999 a contract with a new label called System Beyond (Peru-Usa) for record our CD called The Great Death.
In January, 2000 we travel to Peru to record our disc and to realize a live presentation. After coming back and to realize some presentations, the band decides to separate for personal problems.
It´s newly at the end of 2008 when two of the original members decide to form again the band and contacts System Beyond again those who are going to edit the CD The Great Death, later of make a remasterization.
And now Thy Dominion is Sargon (guitars and vocals), Kaos (drums), Lager (bass), and Her-man (guitars)
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Thy Dominion make Black Metal. It´s influenced by Viking, and Death Metal to, but the essence of the band is the Black Metal. We follow the songs of bands like Dark Funeral and Lord Belial for example, and the Swedish Black Metal scene to of course, but we incorporate also melodies and riffs proper of the Death metal or of the Viking. They are shades that give her a particular touch
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
It is a very subjective question but… Because it´s a good band. It (he,she) might not say another thing to you. One when buys an album or demo, does it because likes the band, and if you do not like it you do not buy it.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Our first demo was very good received for the local Metal Scene, and trascend frontiers. Just for this we travel to Peru for recording a CD and play alive. I think about it and suppose that someone wants to invest money and time in the band, it´s because he thinks that the band deserves it. And it´s not going to defraud it.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?Before separating we had a few presentations so much in Montevideo (the capital) as like inside the country. And the show that we did in Peru.
Now we have our second debut in 12/12/2009 and we hope for the next year to do more presentations, both in our country and in Buenos Aires (Argentina)
What sould labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
At this time we sign with System Beyond Records (from USA) they are going to take charge of the edition of our disc. For distribution I supposed they take charge to, but we don’t discard any offers.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
For the year that comes this one organizing a tour along South America that includes five countries of the region to promote the disc.
We have many expectations with regard to it and bet for which it goes out definitively.
Another second plan will be recorded a second album but first we want promote The Great Death CD
