Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
In 2009, I wanted to create a band that mixes the symphonic and orchestral parts of classical music, the festive and authentic parts of folk and Celtic music with the aggressive and energic parts of death / black metal. Members joined the crew and we produced 4 albums.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Valfreya sends a rush of vicious folk and symphonic metal around the world, taking all the jolly melodies from the genre, but then making it faster and more aggressive.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
For fans of melodic but aggressive metal!

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Valfreya has unleashed three well-received EPs (‘First Chronicles’, ‘Acoustic Chronicles’, ‘Acoustic Chronicles Part II’), an impressive 2012 debut album entitled ‘Path To Eternity’ via Maple Metal Records and their self-released second ‘Promised Land’ independently on January 13, 2017. Valfreya’s discography is available on Spotify, Bandcamp, and all online major retailers.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
What you hear on the albums is what you get on stage.  We dress in a dark-fantasy-like Viking fashion to go with our story-telling, which gives an interesting visual aspect while delivering the instrument-playing with precision. Since their inception, Valfreya has satisfied fans with their epic live experiences (200+ shows throughout Canada and the USA) where they have opened for bands like Arkona, Dark Tranquility, Nekrogoblikon, Necronomicon, Korpiklaani, Moonsorrow, Tyr, Insomnium and more!

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
We are sometimes a little bit silly, but we always act like professionals. We sold a lot of physical albums and we have online many followers / listeners. We are always open to working with labels/zines/promoters.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We are presently working on our next full-length, planned for either late 2021 or early 2022 release.
