Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Before we started up with Verderben, Azrael and Corpse started two times making music together between 2002 and 2007. Unfortunately, there were no musicians interested in the stuff we did. Then Skull asked me to join Svarog. As a service in return he agreed to do the drums for our new stuff. The team play was very good but soon we realised that we would have a wider musical range without Azrael. So we kicked Azrael out of the band and changed our name to Verderben. In this two man constellation we operate down to the present day.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
We do play Black Metal. The difference between us and many other BM bands out there is that we think outside the box. We don't play in that „black and white" manner. Of course we play many „standard" BM riffs, too. But we also mix our stuff with stylistic elements of other types of muisc. So we have a wide range of vibes and sounds.
Well, everybody is subconsciously influenced by the bands he likes, no question. But there are no bands we try to immitate or sound like.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
He/she should buy because we try hard not to be a dull „clone" of some well-known band. Our goal is to create our own sound and style. It's worth giving it a try.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Our first demo „Anti/Mensch" hasn't drawn interest as much as we had hoped at first. Probably after the release of „Vernichtung and Vergeltung" and some rave reviews more people were interested in our demo, that is sold out by now.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
We do not perform live since there are just two musicians neither of them wants to saddle with session musicians.

What sould labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
As already mentioned our first full-length gained some rave reviews so our new stuff should arouse interest, too. Promotion is always welcome.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Our top priority is recording our new stuff and to improve the quality of it, both playing the instruments and processing the recorded signals.

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can listen to it on MySpace (www.myspace.com/verderbenmetal), YouTube or download it from one the russian servers hosting it.
Our stuff can be bought in many online shops such as Dunkelheit Produktionen, Christhunt Productions and so on...
