Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
Our new EP, Omen Of Iniquity, is the culmination of all our songwriting efforts since Bound To Prevail was formed. Throughout the songwriting process, all the members contributed to each track with an individual take on death metal; each track on the album is a result of countless hours of hashing and rehashing riffs, basslines, drum patterns and lyrics along side vocal patterns until each one of us was pleased with the result. Every band member had a say in the recording and mastering of the album so we’re all very proud of the end product.

How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
We’re inspired by a variety of other death metal bands and metal music genres. Whenever we’re writing new material we always try to keep an open mind and use our varied influences to create an original, distinct sound.

Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
Tracking for this EP began in May 2017 in Malta at XiR mobile recording studio. The recording process took around two weeks to complete. The tracks were mixed and mastered in Sweden by Ronnie Björnström at Enhanced Audio Productions. Overall it was about two months after we started recording that we heard the finished product. It was a really intense time and a great learning experience for everyone involved and we’re all very proud of the end result.

What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
The artwork was created by a very talented Maltese artist, Etienne Bugeja (http://etiennebugeja.com/). Alan originally came up with the concept for the artwork and worked very closely with Etienne throughout the entire process, from sketch to finished product. As a band we always wanted the EP cover to have that old-school vibe yet with modern touches to go along with Bound To Prevail’s sound.
The images depicted in the artwork are inspired by and closely tied to the lyrics for this set of tracks. The underlying theme revolves around the fall of modern civilization, society, religion, retaliation against the suffering endured by blind devotions and the devastation that humanity has brought upon itself. Our intention was for the listener to imagine a dark, decaying and cursed world, where only the depraved would thrive.

What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
Our immediate target is to grow our reputation and get as much attention and exposure as possible. As with all other metal bands, our aim is to sign with a good label who will help us push the band and its music forward. We’re also currently working on our 2018 schedule and hope to perform for some of your readers in the near future.

Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
We originally received a shipment of a few hundred copies of the EP. Omen Of Iniquity is available in digipak and jewel-case formats. A digital version of the EP is also available to download.

Where and how will you promote this new release?
In addition to promoting the release online via our social media profiles, we will also be playing a number of local and foreign gigs in the near future.
