Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
CARBID! was founded in Braunschweig in 1999 by guitarist Chris Schweyda and bassist Carsten Bätge, who both were formerly the core of "Alien Power" and joined the Band "Random" on 1997 europe tour as support of U.D.O. Moments later drummer Werner Bokranz was engaged and a few months later the singer Frank Kubein was recruited, who was known as the bassman of "Salem's Law" and the singer of "Bulletproof". In the following period of song covering there were not only created the Demo-CDs "Explosive" (2002) and "Härtegrad mittel" (2006), but also there were lively changes on guitar: On Chris Schweyda followed Klaus Bergmann, who again later was replaced by Thorsten Golomb. Until finally in 2009 Michael Peters (guitarist of the band "C.O.M.A.) joined and brought the final break to their own compositions with it.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
The roots of Carbid! are in the 80s, influenced by the NWOBHM. There's a lot of straight, compact and raw power in the music, with a strong drift to speed metal and on the other hand experimental tendencies to put strange elements in metal and harden them.
Mixed between Heavy, True, Power and Speed Metal, 80s sounds and modern punch.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
It's like the power of the live concert in your home. In your face. With full force.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
The first official CD "Breaking Walls" received good releases by the media although it's not mainstream-metal but some kind of outlaw-metal. The second CD is waiting to be published, coming out soon. One time more "in your face", harder and faster than ever before.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
We love to play live, it's a great party every time. At this moment we're unfortunately searching for a new drummer. But soon we'll be back on stage and burn the house down again!

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
It's the metal heart that's beating in our bodies. The true and ever young spirit of HM. Our crusade for the real power will never end.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We're now writing the songs for the next album and there are already some very strong ones! As soon as we're able to we will get on stage again and play some festivals in the first half of 2015. There could be a bigger tour in summer (don't wanna talk about it now), then we will enter the recording studio in late summer.
