Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
Well "Unforeseen Consequences" is our first full-length release. The songs were written in the period of the end of 2016 and the middle of 2017. The music is strongly influenced by the typical old-school thrash bands like Kreator, Sodom, Demolition Hammer etc. The first track "Letal Vaccine" is one of our first songs ever. It's about today's risks from vaccinating the new generations and genetic problems. Some of us are Star Wars fans, so the second song "Starkiller" is influenced by the movie and it's about the death star. The third song in the album is called "Vigor Leech", which is about the energetic vampires. The people who are affecting us badly in an emotional way. "Scaphism" is a long one, describing an old Persian torture, used to kill the victims in very disgusting and brutal way. "Terror Doctrine" is a song against the radical Islam. Don't be confused with the "true" Islam. It's straight against the terrorists and the terror done to the innocent people by these lunatics. "Carbonized Corpses" is death metal influenced song, with typical brutal lyrics, about the mass death of people in a building. "Catatonia" is an multi-riffing instrumental. That's the first song of ours, which has a clean part in it. "Of A Dying World" tells to story of the distinction of the dinosaurs. The last one is the self-titled "Unforeseen Consequences (Spectrum of Death)". Long song as "Scaphism", with a different stages of progression (our opinion), which is kinda influenced by both the "Chernobyl" case and Half-Life game.
How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sound like anything we might have heard before?
The sound of "Unforeseen Consequences" is pretty much old-school thrash. It sounds mostly like a combination of Demolition Hammer, Kreator, and Sodom.
Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
We recorded the album in Playground Studio, located in Varna, Bulgaria in the summer of 2017. Recorded the whole material for 4 or 5 sessions, 7-8 hours each, without a metronome. Nothing special during the recording session. There's unexpected guest vocals by Kiril Kirilov, an ex-Hyperborea vocalist.
What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
The artwork was done by our friend Anton Atanasow from Oldschool Crew. He is a very talented person. The artwork is mostly linked to the last song "Unforeseen Consequences (Spectrum Of Death)", but people may find more links to other songs, depends on their interpretations. The topics of our lyrics are mostly about violence, sci-fi, wars, apocalypse and stuff like that.
What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
Our goal was to show that there's a thrash metal scene in Bulgaria too. It's really hard to play in a band here and the metal scene is dying at all. Also we wanted to find a label which to release it. We are looking forward now to record a second one, which definitely will be better, with a better production.
Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
This album was released on CD by "Stormspell Records". The copies are limited to 500.
Where and how will you promote this new release?
Well, the album was digitally released in 10th of November in 2017 and we promoted it through a YouTube channel called "New Wave of Old School Thrash Metal". We've made and some Facebook campaigns about it. In 2018 "Stormspell Records" released it on CDs and we are selling it now. The promotions are mostly online.
