Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
Our new album is called Frostburn, and it is the best album that we've ever made, ever. In fact, it may be the best metal album ever produced since the dawn of time. So we're very happy with the result. Take your entire CD collection and burn it in a pit, because Frostburn will be all you'll ever need to hear. The album also has my personal favorite song we've ever written - "Manly Witness". Before you start listening to the album, make sure you've donned your strongest set of armor, because we've tested it on some small animals before releasing it upon humans, and most of them disintegrated into a bloody poof within the first 5 seconds of play.

How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
Most mortals describe our style as heavy metal, traditional metal, 80s heavy metal, or power metal, and while you may have heard something like our music before, you've never heard anything like this. Frostburn is metal incarnate - the purest form of metal condensed down into one CD. If you survive, it will become your favorite album of all time.

Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
Most of the album was recorded in our production studios located in the Mohorovičić discontinuity, 13 miles beneath the earth's crust. We had to record down there because if we record on the surface, we cause earthquakes. It took us about 6 months to record all the parts for the album, including recruiting the London Symphony Orchestra for one of the tracks on the album. A few of the oboe players were holding out, so we had to kidnap their grandmothers until they agreed to play. It was dirty work, but your LORDS demand results. The rest of the album (specifically, drums and some vocals) was recorded at the Madison Media Institute studios in Madison, Wisconsin under the watchful eye of our producer and engineer, Doug Olson. Doug as worked with many famous bands such as Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, and Cheap Trick, so he is an expert at coaxing out the best sound from any recording. Although Doug is mortal, he is one of the strongest warriors we've ever met, as he's able to withstand the LORDS material in its raw, unmixed form.

What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
The artwork for the album was produced by a fantastic Greek artist Andreas Zafiratos. We worked with Andreas to produce the artwork for our last EP, Plan of Attack, and he is by far the best artist we've ever worked with. The cover artwork (and the inside artwork) is influenced by the first song on our album, "Knights of Dragon's Deep". The lyrics tell the tale of a specialized group of dragon-killers who are enlisted to free a keep from the clutches of an evil Frostwyrm. So, basically, a standard Monday morning for your LORDS.
In general, our lyrics take influence from many different events that we've lived through. Various battles, explosions, knife fights, Tokyo street drifting, biker gangs, etc.

What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
We expect nothing less than total world domination. This CD will cement us as the world's greatest band in the history of time. Our aim is to sit on a throne made of the bronzed broken instruments of bands we have conquered and be handed a golden chalice full of mead by the former members of Manowar, who have disbanded after losing an arm wrestling contest to us.

Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
It is being released on CD. If it sells well, our label will re-press it in vinyl as well. We had to call up the president of memorex to have him create a special CD format in order to handle all of the METAL without melting. We had 1,000 copies made in the US, and 1,000 made in Europe. But more will be pressed as soon as we sell out. I'm guessing it'll take us maybe 48 hours or so.

Where and how will you promote this new release?
The biggest, most amazing, most fire-filled CD release party that you'll ever see will be in Madison, WI on 2/13/15 at The Annex at The Red Zone. That will be the start of the onslaught. After that, we will be appearing on literally every magazine, TV show, radio program, and skymall catalogue in order to promote the CD.

Where can we order it from?
You can order the CD from our online merch store at www.LordsOfTheTrident.com. You can order digital copies from iTunes, BandCamp, AmazonMP3, etc.
