Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
The band began to form a full lineup in 2013 (Devin – Guitars and Vocal and Paul – Bass) in which an original guitarist left before hitting the stage making way for Jesse to destroy lead guitar. We set out to play as straightforward and heavy as we could playing locally very frequently. Then our original drummer Chris had to move and we met up with Connor and filled our current lineup that instantly forced us to become more proficient on the spot.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
The basis of our sound is what we call Deathy Fuckin Thrash, although it contains influences from a lot of subgenres, heavy on the groove. Concrete Funeral is heavily influenced by Exodus, Death, Goatwhore,  Carcass, and Lamb of God among many others.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
If you’re looking for something heavy as fuck, that goes from blast to half time, Death to Thrash to Groove and back and offers something a bit different from the norm in the way of progression then look no further. Growling lows and screeching highs? Gargling bass and ripping fuckin solos? Get the fuck in here?!

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Ultimum Judicium is our debut release

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Yes, we’ve been an active live band since 2015. We played many local shows and were honored to have played some great Canadian metal festivals like Calgary Metalfest, Loud As Hell Festival in Drumheller and Armstrong Metalfest.

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
Although our influences shine through pretty well, Concrete Funeral brings a mix of these sounds in a bit of a different way, mixing groove and death to form some interesting passages also, of course, backed up by everything else we can conjure to thicken and enforce that sound. Also served with a smart ass, usually disgusting commentary/ stage banter that'll leave you laughing while waiting for the next excuse to bang your head or punch your neighbor in the face.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
As we release this record we plan to push it into as many eyes and ears as we can possibly make it get to, while working on our follow up offering at the same time. We took some time off of live shows to get the album ready to show and now its fucking go time!

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can check us out on Facebook and Instagram as well as on Youtube and our Bandcamp!
