Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Infinitas are Andrea Böll (Vocals, Percussion), Piri Betschart (Drums, Vocals, Clarinette, Percussion) and I (Selv Martone: Guitar, Virtual Instruments). We call our style Melodic Thrash Metal.
The band was founded in 2009 by Piri and me. A year later the band was completed by Isa (vocals), Joëlle (violin) and Pauli (bass).
The debut concert in December 2011 was followed by another 8 gigs in six different cantons until Isa announced her departure from the band. Following nearly two years without a singer Andrea joined in 2013 and has been the frontwoman of the band since. Her powerful and diverse voice has contributed a whole new character to the music. A new era with more concerts, new songs and the first EP („Self-Destruction“, 2015) was released. Two years later we have released our Debut “CIVITAS INTERITUS”. Currently we’re about to complete our line-up and get on Stage again.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
That’s not as easy to describe. Let’s say it this way ; If we would work in the Gastronomy field, we would be known as culinaric wild-boar’s because we would  mix different dishes, put them in one pan and cook and eat them just like that. It probably would take a while for someone to make themselves try and taste it. But then they would be surprised about the amazing taste, no matter what ingridiences the cooks decided to use.
That’s pretty much how we hold it with our music-style. We use different elements like folk, melodic, trash and more mixed up with other style directions. Because of that, some songs are hard to put into a definite genre. If someone ask, we define our style with melodic thrash metal. Heavy Folk Thrash Metal would probably be even a better and more fitting describtion. For me personally, the individual experience of the listener is more important than in what kind of Metal-Niche we are put in. For some it may sound more like Folk Metal than Thrash Metal and for others more like Heavy Metal than Folk Metal. No matter what, every individual idea is ok.
Our influences are very broadly spread, here some of the most important ones: Children of Bodom, Opeth, Wintersun, Iron Maiden, Kreator, Amorphis and Ensiferum.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
We always give our best at live shows, you will see it's true ;-)
We also like concept-works: Each Infinitas song (beside the Intros and Outros) are named after demons. We decided to go with this concept right from the start. We  wanted to have a consistent concept over all our songs, which would still allow us to be flexible. Demons are perfect for this, each demon has different characteristics and we’re able to write about them independently  from a certain time period. This gives us the freedom to write about what ever we want to, while our songs still fit together concept wise.
Demons also don’t have to be bad all of the time, in earlier days, demons were equated with „ghosts“, which could be good or evil.
We aren’t cultists oder satanists and we’re religiously neutral.
With „CIVITAS INTERITUS“ we have expanded the concept of demons. „CIVITAS INTERITUS“ is latin for: Town of Destruction. Therefore we have invented a medieval town called „Lunatris“, which gets haunted by demons and destroyed. In our album, we follow the protagonist of our story as he strays through the town and desperately searches for help. He is the last survivor of this terrible night. Each song on the album plays at a different place in the town, which is pictured inside the CD-booklet.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
2017 CIVITAS INTERITUS - Full lenght concept Album
2015 Self-Destruction - EP
We received very good feedback and are very happy that our work earn so much of praise. So we know, we do the right thing and we would do it for many years ;-)

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Yes of course, we love live shows! This year was very nice, we also played at Z7. One gig left for 2017. And then first thing on our agenda is to complete our line-up, we’re missing a Bass and Violin player. Then we want to go back on stage as soon as possible. Also a tour would be very cool. Besides we’re working on new material and we have plans for a video clip.

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
We always give our best and we mean it damn serious.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
A lyric video and we are also working on a music clip. On the other side we are working on secret projects, highly classified stuff we can't tell anything about just yet. Just this: the creativity factory is working overtime. There's lots of action going on in our studio.

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
