Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
The album is called “The Darkest Flame Of Eternal Blasphemy“ and it contains nine songs of the dark metal art. Let´s skip the talking about each single track and let´s recommend to readers of this interview to sit down, burn a candle, open wine and listen to the whole album during an evening. Everybody can read lyrics and absorb the music in private which is the best way for this album. I hope all people will be so happy with this release just as we are.
How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
We´re used to say something about Death and Black Metal which is very close to the music genre of RAVENOIR. I would like to emphasize that songs on the debut album are varied. You can hear fast and brutal music in the song „Ravenoir“ as well as the atmospheric intermezzo „From The Dead Shadows Of The Void To Eternity“ or the final, very slow and depressive hymn „Alter Ego“. Maybe there will appear also listeners who will find something familiar in our music because when Big Boss narrates so it may remind you ROOT. When Andy La Rocque plays his great guitar solo, anybody can remember KING DIAMOND´s style… But these two special guests made the album really special:-)
Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
Mastermind Alesh AD recorded the most of guitars at his home. I did all bass parts at Dejansound, Big Boss sang his verses here too. The drummer Mr. Sas recorded at Studio Plesná. AD sang the whole album and recorded keyboards at Shaark Studio. Watch video clips from this about six months long studio work.
What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
The cover artwork plus graphic layout was made by Gothoom Productions, more precisely by its owner and chief Peter. He created also killer logo RAVENOIR and some merchandise items. The front page represents very well the blasphemous concept and mainly the album´s title “The Darkest Flame Of Eternal Blasphemy“. In brief, topics of our lyrics touch a mystery, thoughts on the subject of death, anti-religious attitudes or that mighty creature Raven (who reincarnated into the name of the band).
What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
We don´t expect anything. We want to create the good music and if fans will like our songs so that´s a point. We could have the greatest aims but we are simply realists after many years on the Metal scene. The most important thing is that we get phenomenal responses on “The Darkest Flame Of Eternal Blasphemy“. We´re excited about the RAVENOIR´s future and let´s hope this future will bring the long time ´cause the time can get this horde somewhere higher… We are just enjoying RAVENOIR pretty much right now.
Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
“The Darkest Flame Of Eternal Blasphemy“ is available in more physical formats and there´s one very special or if you want: a „modern“. It is full album USB flash disc. Crazy but sometimes also fave one. Otherwise we have the six pannel digipack and a classic jewel case CD. Our label Gothoom Productions plans the vinyl release which is a great idea. Of course, there are paid platforms online so digital maniacs can support us by official downloadings.
Where and how will you promote this new release?
Actually via Pest Webzine in Romania;-) Sure, there are coming another interviews from more countries. Reading reviews and answering questions is the main focus of RAVENOIR now. I can say that we try to promote this brand new release worldwide. We make new t-shirts and hoodies, stickers, beanies and printed flyers too. We think about a video clip, maybe some live shows... Infernal art needs fiery ideas.
