Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Teren is a folk metal band from Kropyvnytskyi. The band consists of former members of the band Kult, but has a completely different approach to creating music. We love metal, we are crazy about Ukrainian folklore and we combine these two cool things into one whole.
Before the first official release in June 2020, Teren tried a lot of vocalists and possible band names to finally combine all the components into a decent version.
So:
• Guitar - Sergey Panchenko.  Able to masterfully pronounce a terrifying phrase: "I got an idea". Organizational processes are on his conscience too.
• Keys - Anna Apolyarova-Galchenko. The voice of conscience and common sense. The main melody maker.
• Drums - Roman Belobrov. It is his playing that outshouts that same voice of conscience and reason.
• Bass guitar - Denis Rudenko. In addition to playing the bass, roars into the microphone.
• Another guitar - Sergei Snegirev.  Picks at solos better than any woman can pick at her husband. Can sing if he’s not ghosting.
• Alyona Eremina - vocals. Can do an octave higher, and an octave lower. And almost doesn’t panic.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
The lyrics are based on ancient Slavic legends and beliefs, and the music uses traditional folk motifs and heavy metal reefs. We want as many people as possible to finally smoke that Slavic folk metal is very powerful, very versatile, and ultimately beautiful.
We cannot say that we play just in one genre. It’s a combination of folk metal, heavy metal and a little of power. We are ready to new experiments with other genres.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Ukrainian folklore is new for most of the world’s metalhead. And it’s powerful, mosaic, unusual.
We can translate Ukrainian folklore into English or any other language, but it wouldn't be the Ukrainian folklore.
We want the world to get to know our authenticity, our culture, and not translated.
Everyone who wants to hear something new should enjoy it.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Our latest release “Mara” get different opinions. Someone felt in love to the moon and back and call that it was the best experience of 2020. Someone loves drums, someone hates it. And the similar meaning about everything: vocal, guitars, keys, and video.
Most of webzines we wrote to published the news about new single, so we mark this as good feedback. Also, we are really happy to see more and more followers from the whole world every day. Maybe it’s the best mark.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
It was a cool idea to start recording during quarantine, heh. So we really want to make session, but can’t do this. Everyone has a stage experience and hope it will be possible soon.

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
We are unusual for most of world listeners and it’s our forte. We are too old to childish and too young to work like a buffalo. We want made quality and really rock music with Ukrainian color. Also, we've got the team of the same ones.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Now we are recording a new single and prepare a first album which will come soon. Also, we are preparing merch collection of useful things, not just T-shirts.

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
We are available on every popular streaming service like Deezer, Spotify, Soundcloud, YouTube Music and others. All news you can find on Bandcamp, Instagram or Facebook
