Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
Our new release is called Undercovers Vol.1. It’s a 23 track release exclusive to Bandcamp with special edition CD and streaming track listing. These are cover songs that we have recorded over the years which have been appeared on various territory LORD releases which are now quite hard to find. We also recorded some new covers to celebrate the release. This is a great way to make some of our favourite songs accessible to our LORD friends and community and have a bit of fun listening to it all.
To give more bang for buck, we also recorded a 2 hour podcast that comes with the Bandcamp release where LT and myself talk about the stories from all 23 tracks on the list. Personally for me, this was a lot of fun reminissing and I think that others will really enjoy listening in as well.

How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
We are simply a heavy metal band. A lot of people will label LORD as power metal, but we have elements of power, thrash, traditional heavy metal, AOR/melodic rock and even some blackened thrash and blast beats. We are a mixed back so we always say that if you simply love metal, there is a good chance that you will like some of what we do.

Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
This is a compilation with recordings going back to 2006 right up until now. The two new covers which are Savage Garden’s “To the Moon and Back” as well as Judas Priest’s “Reckless” were recorded at SLS Studios in Wollongong and came together relatively quickly.
Every song we have recorded has had a different experience and in some cases we have used cover songs to test new studio gear and spaces. For example, there are test mix covers of Queensryche’s “The Whisper” and Bon Jovi’s “Runaway” which were only recorded purely for that purpose.
Not only are covers a great way to iron out the creases before going into to record new studio albums, but it helps us learn new ways of playing, especially with the less traditional/non-metal cover songs. It certainly would have helped us over the years when it came to new writing and recording.

What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
The artwork has been put together by Tristan Tait illustrations who also did our Chaos Raining release and has worked personally with me for some time now with The Andy Social Podcast. Tristan is an incredibly talented artist and with the title being “Undercovers” we wanted an illustrated Goosebumps vibe going on in the art. Tristan took this and ran with it, creating a very fun and eye catching piece of artwork.

What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
This is all just a bit of fun! We are music fans and part of the reason why we record covers is to celebrate the great artists who have already contributed to the world. We hope people enjoy our cover versions and if they discover the rest of our back catalogue as a result, bonus!

Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
We are doing a special edition/limited track listing CD release limited to 500 hand numbered copies worldwide. The entire 23 tracks plus 2 hours of accompanied podcast is exclusive to Bandcamp and a limited track listing will be available on the streaming services.

Where and how will you promote this new release?
You can follow us on the socials by searching @lordoffical and myself @andydowling – We’ve already unleashed the pre-orders and we’re close to selling out already. We’ll also be doing the usual interviews/podcasts along the way and we might look at some videos down the track. Touring most likely won’t happen until 2022 however never say never.

Where can we order it from?
