Although they've been around since 2008 and have 2 full-length album and several demos underbelt, Thorybos are a totally new name to me, a quintet from the North of Germany involved in other similar projects of devastating, uncompromising Black and Death Metal. This is a 20 minutes EP featuring 6 tracks that show absolutely no sign of mercy or remorse to the listener; pummeling, abhorrent, fast and unrelenting, vicious, brutal to the bone Black Death Metal that impresses through its complete and utter aggression from start to finish, but apart from that, and what is in my opinion the best feature in Thoryboses music, we also get variation in guitar riffs, drumming and also vocals, not much but definitely enough to make it interesting and avoiding monotony, which in these cases is just around the corner. To be more expressive in comparisons, I'd say the riffs sound like a dirge had a baby with a bulldozer, the drums sound like all the bombs of WWII all shot during 20 minutes, and the vocals sound like a horde of trapped zombies, hungry and demented by hate, it's a dream come true of fanatics of the most bestial result between Black and Death Metal, one of the most brutal releases I've heard this year, almost perfect!
