Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Joost, Dries and David were all members of Crusader in the early years of the century and played on the band’s critically acclaimed Fools album. Joost, Dries and Jeroen were also in Monster Joe, who played Wacken Open Air in 2006.
Dries and Thomas were in Megasonic together, releasing two albums.
We all joined forces some time ago to become Hunter. We did our first gigs in 2017 and have been going strong since.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Heavy metal, simple as that. I guess we fall in the New Wave Of Traditional Heavy Metal genre but we basically just play the heavy metal we grew up with. There’s the obvious influences like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, but there’s also Manilla Road, Satan, Omen, Metal Church...

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Because they’ll get a dose of heavy metal that was made by fellow metalheads. An album that breathes the passion for heavy metal and was crafted to be as good as possible.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
We did a demo at the end of 2017 that was only released online. It passed below the radar for most people. It taught us that you still need a physical release.
So we just released our debut self-titled album on 27 April 2019. That is well received by metal fans and gets good reviews in general.

Do you play live as well? How’s your live activity so far?
We do play live. Besides doing our own club shows, we’ve done opening slots for among others Them, Chevalier and Riot V. We will also be playing at the Belgian final of the Wacken Metal Battle. We love to play live, that’s where the magic happens.

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
Promotors should be interested in the band because they’ll get a kick ass live show by a band giving its all.
We can give a label a quality album that will appeal to fans of classic underground heavy metal.
Thanks to our collective years of experience, we can have quite an interesting discussion about heavy metal with any interviewer.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Play live as much as possible to promote the debut as much as possible. We believe this album deserves to be heard.
Write a new album’s worth of songs for a follow up release, which should see the light somewhere next year.

8.You can find the album on any of the online music providers like Spotify, iTunes, Deezer and Bandcamp.
