Review:
Here's a band that likes to stick with their label, this on e being their fourth studio album to date and third out on local Art Gates Records, so I guess their work together is satisfactory to both parts. Unfortunately I could say the new album suffers from a messy production and at times things get really hectic, hard to follow, not mentioning to enjoy. Steignyr are blanding Folk / Celtic influcences on a Melodic Death Metal backbone, and while there are some ideas that might be taken into consideration, their compositions sound outdated and a bit confised like the band doesn't know what exactly they want to achieve and what finalality to reach. There are also a few (long) intermezzos that are divided between symphonic and folkish, yet their sound is totally different from the rest of the album, it's like they were taken off another album and just mixed as raw as possible, they are good but strange in the overall atmosphere. Not sure what I could say about this, for a band with almost a decade of activity and serious discography I would have expected much more that just a few interesting passages here and there. Try it yourselves and make up your mind.
