Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
ELIXIR was born in the beginning of 2009, with the idea of forming a Power Metal band mixing speed with melody, but without losing the strenght.
In order to achieve this, Brunno Navarro (voice), Federico Fleitas (drums), Ignacio Fernandez (Keyboards), Andres Duarte (bass), Marcos Garcia (guit.) and Matias Artecona (Guit.) gathered and started builing a powerful band.
It's first name was Excelsior, but due to legal issues they decided to change it to Elixir.
The band's very first show was on Agust 28 at Troya's along with Crepar and Boanerges (Argentina). The response from the crowd was overwhelming.
After another two successful shows, Elixir is invited to play as support act for Epica (Holland), this show allowed Elixir to play in front of 3000 people!
This was a huge step for the band and, due to this, they entered the studio to start the pre-production process for their very first album. During this process the band was asked again to join an international show, in this opportunity they supported Sonata Artica.
After a long wait, the band started recording their album
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music? Very simple, POWER METAL!, we are influenced by may bands like, Angra, Nocturnal Rites, In Flames, Helloween, old-Nightish, old-Sonata Arctica, etc.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Because it is a new and energetic band with a lot to prove, and because we came to stay!!
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
So far we have released our first CD, "Unleash the Magic" throgh italian label Heart of Steel Records.
The response from the public has been spectacular, very many positive comments encourage us to move forward.
And the media has also been very positive, good reviews and all.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Yes, we play live, so far we have been fortunate to play side by side to big bands of the heavy metal worldwide as Sonata Arctica, Epica, Mark Boals, and also make our own shows.
What sould labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
We are a young band with a great desire to do our job the best way possible, and the rest, our music speaks for us
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
For now, do a strong pomotion our album, so the more people know us, and in a few months begin the pre-production of the second CD.
