Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Band was formed in 2010. The intent was to play some filthy and grimy music that had some kind of depth and dynamics to it and that would provide some kind of channel of expression for shit that was otherwise unexpressed and hidden away. We loved Godflesh, Dystopia, Corrupted and the such. We wanted to hear the sounds we had in our heads and that were trapped in there with no outlet. The lineup was unstable for the first three years of the band, then it consolidated when Emad joined on drums and Donovan on bass a little after, while me (Mattia, vocals) and Robin (guitar), have remained the only founding members.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
It’s dark, heavy, angry and embittered shit. It’s definitely "doomy", and has “blackness” to it. It’s hard to say cause the influences coming in are multiple. We like the aforementioned Godflesh, Dystopia, Corrupted, and also Amebix, Iron Monkey, Swans, Beherit, Darkthrone, Disembowelment, Killing Joke, just to name some of the many influences we have.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Cause they listened to them and liked them, and would like to own a copy.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Two full-length albums: “Tomb of Feathers” form 2012, which I think people liked, and “Wound Empire”, another full-length album coming in a couple months.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Yes, sometimes. We play in and around our native SF Bay Area. We’ve played sporadically but steadily. No touring so far, hopefully one day.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
Because it’s 100% DIY, self-funded, self-promoted and self released shit, that is also heavy and angry shit that has real emotions at it’s core. Basically, because it’s real, and no one tells us what or how to do our shit.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We have a split with Canada, Montreal’s dark/blackened hardcore band Dark Circles planned. Other than that, write more songs, release them, and play them live.
