Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Dimorph has been around since 2003 and went trough several line-up changes until its recent, "serious" incarnation was established. Jeff (Guitars) and Lucas
(Vox) are founding members, Simon joined recently on bass and I, David, play the drums since early 2010 I guess. All of us have been playing in bands almost all of their adult live and some of us are also playing in other bands as well. But that´s not the topic here. The 4 of us are pretty unlike each other, but our common denominator is Death Metal - the rest is just uninteresting gossip.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
First and foremost we play Death Metal - the way it was once intended: furious and compelling. Anyone into classic death metal will surely notice hints of the classic acts like cannibal corpse, vader, etc... yet not without hints of thrash and black metal. We exclude all of the modern day core- and emo-slam bullshit since we despise it utterly. If you want your metal the faggot way, don´t mind listening to Dimorph.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Because he likes the songs - simple answer. We´re not trying to sell our stuff by pretending we´re the most evil, technical, old school, new school, controversial, cock-sucking... or whatever band that´s around. Our music is heart-felt and needs no further tag when it´s perceived by the right person.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media? We released a demo and an EP which were well-perceived although we consider these releases as not representative for the style we´re heading for. More important is the promosong "The Suffering" we recorded at iguana studios (deadborn, necrophagist, unlight,...) and which is now available as a free high quality download on our facebook site.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Sure, we did quite some gigs and are allways eager to play more. The stage is where Death Metal belongs!
What sould labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
They should know that we´re dead serious in our approach to music and that though our music might not be the most popular at the moment, it is here to stay!
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We plan to get a second guitar player (anyone interested, get in touch!) and to record and release an album in early 2012. And to play as many gigs a s we can, of course! Hopefully in romania someday !
