Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Well, Jonathan (now 16 years old), Tobias (now 16) and I (Nikolaj L, 15 years old) started a band in 2007, that was called Eyes of Evil.
Jonathan is my cousin, and Tobias is Jonathan's cousin, so it's a happy family band, haha!!
We played hard rock, but we gradually evolved into a more extreme band. I think that Eyes of Evil started to "evolve” into more of an extreme band when Nikolaj J (now 16) joined the band.
He had recently moved to the area, and he attended the same class as our drummer, Jonathan. Jonathan invited him to join a rehearsal with Eyes of Evil, and he accepted. He brought his guitar, and we jammed some old school Metallica, and so gradually he attended more and more of our rehearsals, and he just became part of the band. He introduced us to bands that played death metal and thrash metal, namely a local band called Dawn of Demise and another band called Hatesphere.
We felt that the name Eyes of Evil began to seem outdated, partly because it sounded like shit (haha!) and because we felt that it didn't suit our style.
We began listening to thrash and death metal in 2008 where we also began to write our first 'real' tracks. We changed name from Eyes of Evil to Crematoria some time between summer and winter in 2008.
The first track we wrote as Crematoria was "Brainless” which has a pounding death metal groove.
We finished recording Brainless on Jesus' birthday 2008. However, that's not the version on the demo.
One of my friends called Sander who was a fellow metalhead and death metal vocalist, even though he didn't play in any band at the time.
I met him through World of Warcraft (George does it, why don't you?) about 3 years before we started Eyes of Evil, which makes it about.. Lets see.. 5 years ago now.
I showed him the Crematoria MySpace, and he told me that he would really like to put some vocals on Brainless. He wrote lyrics to the song, recorded vocals on it, and the band agreed that this was the right vocalist for our band.
We recorded our first demo entitled "Demolish” in the summer of 2009 in Haderslev (south Denmark) with the producer Tommy "Triish” Hansen, who has also produced one of Pyramaze's albums.
The demo was released in one of Denmark's leading music stores called Stereo Studio.
Some said that the demo would give us a good name in the underground. Apparently the radio talked about the demo as well, and said that we were "the new shit”, haha.
Later we played our first "real” concert that we were paid for in Svendborg with Blackhorned and Deus Otiosus. It was fucking awesome to come out and play, and we were very satisfied overall with the concert. The concert was also recorded on video and on audio tape, so we should get it soon. We'll put it up on Myspace as soon as we get it.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Deathrash. We play a mix of thrash metal and death metal. Some say that the thrash metal is more prominent in our music than death metal, but we have death vocals atleast, haha. Bands that have influenced our music would be namely Cannibal Corpse (old and new), Hatesphere, Dawn of Demise, Pantera There's too many others to name..

Why should a metalhead buy your demo/albums?
A metalhead should buy our demo, if he wants pounding old school death metal (or is it called new school?), melodic, yet powerful thrash metal, and aggressive truck crushing deaththrash.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
We have only released one demo entitled "Demolish”, and it was very well received by the public.
Many people have commented on the quality, and the mature playing style we have (I don't want to brag.. But yeah!). Dawn of Demise said themselves that we were the second best metal band in town. Them being the first ones, of course, haha.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Hell yeah, we play live! It's the most satisfying experience to perform your music for fellow metalheads live!
We've played about 3 times as Crematoria, but we've also played gigs individually not with the band. But we want to play as much as we can, because it is fucking awesome to stand on a scene and headbang your heart out while playing deathrash!

What sound labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
I don't think that many labels know about our band, but I know that Pest Webzine and Undergroundmetaldx knows about us.
They should be interested in our band, because we are a band with a good fanbase, a band that loves to play live, and a band that is not likely to split up. In 5 year we'll be at the top of the danish metal scene!

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Plans, plans.. I don't think that we have any plans other than keep on writing new material, playing live, and of course try to land a record contract! We are currently aiming to write enough tracks for a full-length that we can record in the summer of 2010.

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can check our music out on www.myspace.com/crematoriadeath where you can also buy shirts and demos. KEEP ON FUCKIN' THRASHIN!!!
