Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
We have actually been form as a band 10 years as of this September.
Mike and Pepe have been in bands since the 90's while Simon and Samuel since the early 2000's. Red being the youngest and newest member of the band has only been on the scene the past couple of years but plays and acts like an old metalhead!.
The band formed with Simon, Mike and Tommy (bassist 2008-2016) 2008-2016 forming the band, writing and releasing the first CD "The Healing Powers of Hate" in 2013. After numerous shows and 2 other singles, multiple lineup changes, we finally got into the studio in early 2016 to record the is Latest Release, "The Years of Harsh truths and Little Lies"
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Angry is one way. I don’t know why, cause life is good, but when I’m angry, I seem to write well. Our sound I would put it as aggressive, social angst, we want people to get this emotion out and then not have to get violent towards others. I feel the music we play; “Soothes the soul of the savage beast”
Our musical tastes are very wide and open. As much as we play only aggressive music, we listen to everything, so our biggest influence is the life around us. We try to put that to music. Everyone one of our songs are a the soundtrack to our day.
We are mostly all older musicians who have well traveled the road. So from rock, punk, early prog, glam, thrash, heavy and death metal, there is an influence. The envelope has been pushed to the limits I feel; Music, Art, personal expression all make you feel something, so if I pick up my Guitar and write a riff that makes me feel something, have I now become my own influence?
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
If they like it, they buy... if not oh well, too many styles now to give a reason. People will ether like it or not.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
We feel our 2 full lengths and a couple singles we released have been well received within the metal community. Note to interviewer for what we have released “ you can get that from our EPK”
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Yes we play live, is't that why we play miso to begin with? We are as active as we possibly can be without active band roster.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
This question has always bothered me. If the music is not enough to spark an interest, then what more can I say? Been in the game long enough to say, we leave nothing on the table when we hit the stage.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
BB: I would love to be able to tell you a glorious story of grand tours & fighting dragons but the reality is we will do whatever we have to get our music and live shows out the fans across the country. It may take time but to an unsigned band, time is not an issue.
Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
Everywhere? iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, bandcamp, etc. Just make sure you type our name like this ( BornBroken ) we will have physical copies available also.
