Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Irreverence was born in 1995 by Ricky (vocals/guitar) and Davide's (drums) idea to built up an old school thrash band with hardcore attitude. Through several line-up changes they produced four studio albums, in late 2012 Stefano (bass guitar) and me (Eros, guitars) joined Irreverence and we start working on "Shreds of Humanity".
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
As I said Irreverence came up as a thrash-hardcore band with some death metal influences, in my opinion we are more a frontal assault band if you know what I mean... The main bands that influenced Irreverence surely are Kreator, Sodom for the european metal scene and Exodus, Overkill and Death from U.s. scene. As musicians we listen to different genres but this is another story.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Just for headbangin is a good reason! In my opinion every band would have a chance to be listened, than you can say "I like/buy it" or not, nowadays you can listen every band in the internet and than buy their albums. I won't say "buy it" but just give us a chance.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
In 2001 was released "Totally Neagtive Thoughts", the first studio album, next to it was time for an E.p. "Target: Hate" in 2003, than "War was Won" was released in 2005, in 2010 was released "Upon These Ashes" and now it's time for the brand new record "Shreds of Humanity". Every single record had lots of good feedbacks from both public and media, cause I think the band grew up through the albums and got better evrey time starting from "Totally..." that was visceral and maybe unready, closing with "Shreds" that doesn't loose fury but is in some ways "adult".
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
As far as I know the band never stops playing live! We slow down when we're working on new songs, but it is a non-stop playing. At the momento we're planning several gigs across Italy and checking out for touring Europe...and U.S. maybe.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
If you're looking for the new sensation of 2014 you got it...just kidding ahahhahaahahahahahah Irreverence is a real band, four people focused on the same target. We just spread our passion for metal through our music, as you surely know it's very difficult to turn this passion into a job...We play what we like and hope people like it as well!
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We are planning to tour Italy, Europe and maybe U.S. Than we'll start working on brand new songs for the next album! Surely we won't stop!
