Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
Langenneet debut album Kuilun varjossa is something that I have been working on since 2019. I became interested in the idea of making concept albums about the fallen angels mythos and that is what has been driving this album (and the whole project) further into the world of fallen ones and occult metal. I made 10 songs for the album and they focus on the 1st sphere of fallen angels - seraphims, cherubims and thrones: Lucifer, Satan, Leviathan, Belial, Azazel, Beelzebub, Focalor, Forneus, Murmur, Purson and Sonneillon. I did all the instruments and vocals on the album and also recorded, mixed and mastered it. I am happy with the end result.

How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
Musically Langenneet is a combination of influences that are descending from dark underground metal tradition; mainly from black, death, thrash heavy and doom metal. I do not want to copy someone else's work, but there are certain bands that come to my mind as somewhat noticeable influences. On this album some of those bands are Root (Cz), Impaled Nazarene, Merciless (Swe) and Bathory. There’s also one song that reminds me a bit of Mana Mana (Fin).

Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
I recorded the album in two different rehearsal studios that I am using. The first recordings were done in July 2020 and the last ones in November that same year. During this time I had a dream, on which I was there recording the album - a great storm appeared, tore the roof of the building off and notified me that a great flood had started.

What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
Langenneet covers have been very simple since the first demo. I have just a logo and the album title on the covers. I also intend to keep future covers like that. Langenneet is all about lyrical concept and music. So far I have kept myself anonymous, so that the listeners would focus only on concept and music, and on drawing their own visuals in their minds.

What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
It is a landmark of its own and a gateway to the next release of Langenneet. The aim is to write new songs and keep on exploring the world of the fallen ones.

Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
A limited edition cassette release will be made available by Depressive Illusions Records. It will be pressed in 66 copies. I will be releasing the album on digital platforms like Bandcamp, Spotify, iTunes, Deezer etc. At this moment there are no plans for other formats, perhaps in the future.

Where and how will you promote this new release?
I will do it on underground (music) media only. There will be no official social media presence, other than Bandcamp and YouTube. You will have to discover this thing by yourself, through your own interests and needs.

Where can we order it from?
The album is digitally available from February 17th 2021. For digital download I would recommend https://langenneet.bandcamp.com. and Spotify for streaming. For the cassette release you can go to https://depressiveillusions.com, they will announce their release date by themselves.
