Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
The story of Crimson Swan began 2010 during a vacation we spent in a lonely forest cottage. The dark and ancient woods had an enormous influence on the creativity of our fellowship. Inspired by this gloomy and forlorn place we started to write songs. "When Angels Fall" was written during this trip. It marked the first song of Crimson Swan. Crimson Swan started as a side-project and was founded by Robert (Git), Simon (Voc, Git) and Marcos (Keys). Martin (Drums, Voc) and Jakob (Bass) joined us a few months ago.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Basically we play doom metal with gothic nuances. Our style is influenced by bands like „Swallow The Sun", „My Dying Bride", „Black Sun Aeon" etc.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Because it's worth to be bought maybe :). It's gloomy, enchanted, powerful, nearly depressive. Everbody who is into such music will love it.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
„Icon" is Crimson Swan's first release by now and we got some really awesome feedback from fans and media thus far. Thank you all for that!
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?We love to play live. We've scheduled some shows for 2013. We'll support „Hour of 13" on their show in Hamburg in April and are really looking forward to it. Furthermore we are planning a tour to Eastern Europe for next winter.
What sould labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
We're new. But being something like a newcomer in the doom-scene does not mean, that we're not aware of what we do. If you want to work with us, you can expect some uncomplicated, down-to-earth and dedicated doomheads, who love what they do and who want to share their enthusiasm with their audience. I'm sure that you will all hear from us soon. :)
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We will promote our EP in the next months and play as much live shows as we can. As mentioned above we will try to set up a tour and we're writing on some new songs at the moment. We hope to present a full length album spring 2014, so stay tuned.
