Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
Our new album is entitled “Wolves and the Hideous White.” It’s an album focused on relationships, how humans strive to be part of someone else, and the lengths they will go to in order to achieve the connection. It’s a dark album, both imagery and musically, but has a little more bite than the previous release as the mournful feel of the debut has been replaced by disgust.
We’re thrilled with the way it has come out. Sonically it sounds great, but we’re most happy with the flow of the tracks, and the mood it creates as an album listen. It really works as we’d planned.

How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
It’s doom death metal, perhaps with a hint of black metal on occasion. We’re pretty influences by the early Peaceville bands, so that’s a starting point, but we bring our own slant to it of course.

Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
Recording was all completed in house by me (Andy - guitar / vocals). I’ve been recording bands in a home based, portable studio for decades. It gives us a lot of control, and time that we wouldn’t have in a regular studio setting. It works for us very well. We spent about 3 months i think recording the new album, which i was pretty happy with. It wasn’t done in one long session, just when were all available - weekends and evenings.
Stories? I’ve lots of stories about the process. Recording your own music is a painful, slow, agonising process. But, you don’t need me to tell you - we have a series of short vlogs on our YouTube channels that documents the whole thing; it’s a fun watch … now! ha, ha! [https://bit.ly/2yBRdM0]

What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
Travis Smith did the album cover. He’s a phenomenal artist and has worked on covers for Death, Devin Townsend, Katatonia, Anathema; all the stuff i love. There’s a definite link between the artwork and the lyrics. The lyrics are focused around relationships, and how destructive they can be; but people continue to seek them out. The cover represents that perfectly; the couple embracing, daggers for tongues, blood pooling beneath, lost keys from previous efforts at happiness, and the drain of misspent time and energy. Well, that’s what i see anyway.

What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
It’s another step forward in our career as musicians. We are constantly improving as songwriters and performers; and this album is a real upward move. Our aim is to get the album out, hopefully increase our reach to new fans, which will subsequently get us invited to play more shows. We love playing live, and that’s always the goal - to get out there and connect with people.

Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
So far it’s only being pressed on CD 300 copies at a time. If it sells we’ll order more, but in this day and age majority of people are streaming so it’s usually not necessary. I’d love to release a vinyl, get the artwork up nice and big; but it’s expensive.

Where and how will you promote this new release?
We are working with ENSO music management, so they’re taking care of most of that kinda thing. So far we’ve had exclusive streams with Devolution Magazine, Total Rock premiered the first video, and we’ve a very cool cover mount CD coming too!
We always play as many live shows as we can which helps get the music out there, we have an active YouTube channel with vlogs and video diaries. We also plan to realise more videos to accompany the tracks - expect at least 3.

Where can we order it from?
Best place to order is via our Bandcamp: https://thecrawlingband.bandcamp.com - there is the full range of merchandise and discography, and we ship worldwide.
