Review:
These guys are around since 1986! That's insane, they are probably older as a band than most fans in the audience at their live shows... And to be active (or somehow active anyway) for most of those years in the underground it is totally mindblowing, it prove tremendous passion and dedication to this passion. This is their second full-length album, 9 tracks (one is featured twice, in two different versions) in 45 minutes of playing time, a tornado of fast paced Thrash Death Metal with killer memorable riffs, kick-ass leads, furious long solos that are a spectacle on their own, rabid rhythm section and an absolutely insane vocalist that screams his guts out from start to finish. The band started as a total Rigor Mortis worship, however I think by now they have successfully taken over the role of Texas school Thrash Death purveyors from their masters Rigor Mortis. There's a lot one can enjoy on this album, there's a lot of variety, however I think its highlights are the intensity (read ferocity) of these compositions, the contagious energy these compositions are delivered, and the fact the band made sure there are some memorable hooks on every track, that they sound different and the audience is able to distinguish these track, something that's not so usual in the underground nowadays. It's not right to compare generations, but I bet there are not many young bands out there delivering such intense and energetic tracks as these guys do. The one thing I don't really like is the fact the drums sound too synthetic at times, or at least they sound to me thinner than they should be compared to the heaviness of the guitars.
